Spring Break Crunch!

Contrary to the lack of blog posts recently, we've been working hard toward our next major milestone. Our "Three Floor Demo" is due for testing on March 10th, and we're well on our way to making it happen. 

As we're all a bunch of nerds with no Spring break plans, we're working extra hard this week to meet all our goals for the demo. This, of course, excluded Evan and Julia, as they go to schools that for some reason decide to have their Spring breaks during the actual Spring time (weird, right?). This doesn't mean that they aren't working hard; just that we get to make them feel bad by working extra hours because we have nothing better to do.

Anyway, here are this week's goals for finishing up our next big demo:


1. 3 Pre designed floor
  • Floor transitions
  • Shop area (healing at least)
  • Shop implementatoin
2. Start with Intern, get HR, Rogue Security, Samurai (one on each fly)
  • Still programming the interns
  • Particle effects for intern’s skill.
  • Revisit Rogue Security
  • Art for Samurai OR Blogger sprite for him
3. Enemies
  • Art for Lawyer, art for the staplermonster
  • Skill implementation for office troll
  • Skill particles for office troll
  • BOSS FIGHT!!!
4. Dialog
  • Intro convos (content)
  • Comments (content)
  • Dialog loader implementation
5. Polish
  • Clean up UI a lot
    • Implement UI for Art
    • Fix the skill description
    • Fix the positioning on most things like the combat info panel and confirm box
  • Graying out characters for their turn over
  • Bigger effect for currently chosen character
  • Make delay between enemy turns longer, make camera snap to enemies first
  • Start screen
  • Basic Sound effects

We're confident that we'll be able to pull it off. Things are really starting to come together!
